The WIA federal job training program is designed to provide quality employment and training services to assist eligible individuals in finding and qualifying for meaningful employment, and to help employers find the skilled workers they need to compete and succeed in business. Emphasis is placed on meeting the training needs of the business community. Program clients may be eligible for on-the-job training assistance, reimbursing employers 50% of the employee’s wages while they are in training. The program provides training assistance for dislocated workers affected by layoffs or plant shutdown.
